2nd aspect to consider: ignorance of celestial phenomena
There is a multitude of phenomena, both meteorological and astronomical, that are unknown to a large part of the population, and can be easily confused with a *REAL OBJECT THAT IS “FLYING” AND BEING DIRECTED BY AN ALIEN LIFE FORM*.
Many of these phenomena may not be common, or may be rare in certain geographic areas, which increases their social impact if a sighting occurs.
3rd aspect to consider: psychological phenomena
The sleep paralysis It is a temporary inability to perform any type of voluntary movement, which occurs in a transition period between sleep and wakefulness. It is characterized by including feelings of distress, being unable to speak or move, which is sometimes accompanied by visual and auditory hallucinations, a feeling of an intrusive or threatening presence.
4th aspect to consider: fraud
(just look at the image on the side...)
In conclusion: It is very common to ask, both amateur and professional astronomers, whether one "believe» in UFOs/aliens. However, in science, *it is never believe* in the postulates, but they are continually tested.
That is why, faced with the more general question of whether "Does intelligent extraterrestrial life exist?"The author of this site maintains (as do most amateur and professional astronomers) that it is simply we do not know yet, although it is certainly possible that ET life (whether intelligent or not) exists on other planets, however, we do not know yet, because we do not have concrete evidence to prove it (and in science, the evidence they must be something much more forceful than a blurry photo or video, or inaccurate testimony possibly tainted by failures of human perception).
Until now, we don't have evidence that prove the real existence of UFOs (in the "extraterrestrial" sense that one wants to give to the term) and aliens (in the sense of the typical "gray beings" popular in the media). To get an idea of what is meant in science by "search for ET life" (which is very far from trying to see UFOs in the sky), you can see the subsection Exobiology, and the efforts to find exoplanets habitable.
