Participation in amateur-professional collaboration projects (Pro-Am)
There are various collaborative projects between amateurs and professionals (in common jargon, called "Pro-Am» that allow a fluid and coordinated exchange with professionals (in small teams), in order to be able to contribute to certain scientific investigations. The most notable and common cases are those where teams of professionals carry out follow-up observations based on discoveries made by amateurs, or work groups working in a coordinated manner to carry out astrometry of asteroids, in order to make expeditious reports to the MPC when necessary. Participation in global awareness campaigns
Last, but not least, there are various initiatives aimed at astronomical dissemination and awareness, aimed at raising awareness of some area, problem or situation related to astronomy, where it is important that the public is informed about it as well as You are invited to participate in generating some type of report. Examples of this type are the annual campaign Globe at Night (to raise awareness and measure light pollution worldwide), Asteroid Day (to raise awareness about the importance of asteroids and initiatives to avoid a potential impact on Earth), International Observe the Moon Night, InOMN (observation, appreciation and understanding of our natural satellite), etc.
