«On the 6th of 6th of 06 will be the end of Humanity…»
It should not surprise us that, in different periods of our history, great misfortunes, catastrophes, evil manifestations or simply the end of the world are prophesied. Perhaps one of the most recurrent is the one that will be referred to here, whose origin comes from a biblical quote about the being that embodies all evil (the Devil), which has a representative numerical figure: 666. Of course, like every myth or urban legend, there are always sectors that take advantage of it to exaggerate, reinterpret or simply misinform, and this case is no exception.
Pseudoscience says...
The date ending in 6-6-6 is when great misfortunes will occur on Earth. Deaths, fires, floods and multiple misfortunes will hit our planet and human beings, since 666 is the number of the Beast, the Devil, who manifests on this day bringing with him all his evil. We must be prepared to face this day of misfortune, even be prepared for something as terrible as the end of the world, Armageddon, a new holocaust, which can undoubtedly occur on the 6th of the 6th of the 6th.

I consider it pertinent to clarify that this article does not intend to question the religious beliefs of the reader. In fact, it is not even necessary to criticize or question them to demonstrate that the date 06/06/06 (or any of its variations, since the end of the world has also been warned on 06/06/96, 09/09/99 , etc.) there is nothing evil about them. This article focuses on something much simpler, which is our relative perception of time. And what is the origin of this matter? There are some verses from the Bible, the compilation of sacred books of the Catholic religion, that give us the starting point. I quote verbatim from Revelation 13:17-18:
«No one will be able to buy or sell unless he is marked with the name of the beast or the number of his name. At this point you will see who is wise. If you are intelligent, interpret the number of the beast. It is a man, and his number is 666.»
The context is simple: the beast (meaning Devil, Lucifer, Prince of Darkness, etc.) is apparently represented by the number 666 and therefore that number is evil, so any encounter with it is synonymous with holocaust/armageddon/ apocalypse, etc. Now I cite some arguments to refute that the end of the world will occur on a date/year where the series 666 coincides, not precisely because that is an evil number, but because the appreciation of figures, dates and events is enormously subjective and whimsical.
