I am Farid Char, an amateur astronomer with more than 15 years of experience in astronomical outreach, education and observation, as well as co-author of several publications. I currently live in Antofagasta (Chile).\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Inspired by curiosity, motivated by passion and committed to science, astronomy has been my way of life beyond my professional training, and I have had the opportunity to live under the dark skies of the Atacama Desert. Today I work at the\u00a0Astronomy Center<\/a>\u00a0from the University of Antofagasta, at the Paranal Observatory (THAT<\/a>) and I have been an astronomy instructor\/teacher at levels ranging from primary to university education.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Some of my\u00a0interests<\/strong>\/hobbies<\/strong>\u00a0are computing,\u00a0photograph<\/a>,\u00a0astrophotography<\/a>,\u00a0trips<\/a>,\u00a0novelism<\/a>, animals and numismatics; science fiction, suspense and action are my favorite themes when it comes to books and movies\/series.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I am an atheist, apolitical, teetotaler, left-handed, psychologist by profession, childless by choice. And I have my books for sale.\u00a0Novels<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0photos<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

I also discovered a (rare) asteroid\u2026\u00a02014 OL339<\/sub><\/a>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n
